5 Ways To Save Money On Monthly Energy Bills

In England the whether can vary by a great deal. In the winter the weather is freezing, leading to skyrocketing heating bills. In the summer the weather can be very warm, leading to higher electricity bills due to excessive fan usage. This extreme varying of weather is the main reason the people of England are paying too much on their energy bills.

Even if you aren’t experiencing whether like this, it would be nice to lower your monthly outgoings. Although there are some people that aren’t interested in lowering monthly bills, there are some tricks that everyone can do to achieve lower energy bills.

1. Buy Energy Efficient Appliances:

Replacing the commonly used appliances within your home can also help bring down energy bills. This major step isn't completely necessary, but it is an option as there is a chance that the appliances you're currently using aren't running as efficient as others could. Some examples of electrical appliances that can be replaced are:
  • Washing Machines
  • Dishwashers
  • Water Heaters
2. Replacing Windows and Doors:

Old and outdated windows are not only easily letting the warm air out during the winter time but also letting warm air in during the summer time. Some characteristics of old and outdated windows could be that they are made from wood or are single paned. New uPVC windows and Doors are stylish, easy to maintain and act as a great insulator.

3. Do Some Strategic Landscaping:
Although this tip may seem unlikely and unfavourable, but strategically planting trees or plants in certain places has the ability to block sunlight from entering the house and consequently warming the house up. Planting trees and plants in the right places can help make the house cooler meaning you will be able to tone down on the appliances being used to cool the home down and in turn result in a lower electricity bill.
4. Tone Up On The Insulation:
If you ever were to get windows replaced in your home, be sure to check around the inside of the walls during the process of new windows being installed. Warm or cool air can enter or leave the home through the walls, this can make your efforts of cooling or heating the home ineffective. Some areas that can be easily insulated are in the attic and around doors.

5. Watching The Thermostat Usage:
Every home has heating and cooling systems installed to keep your comfortable, however it is easily possible to unnecessarily overwork them. Setting the temperature too high or too low can result in the system working too hard and that is one of the main factors in driving energy prices up. What you can do to help lower energy bills is make sure you aren’t changing the temperature too high or low too often.
